All ages. $15 per person The moment your character steps out on stage, the audience reads and registers that character’s physical presence, stance, movement. We’re so used to doing this in life that we bring the skill to the theater with us. The actor’s job is to use his or her own body to reflect that of another person. This Movement for Actors workshop will start with some simple limbering exercise and progress quickly into working with imagery. Participants will then try out a wide range of characters –animals, objects, humans of various ages, occupations, social classes. During the last section, everyone will select one character to develop more fully. Appropriate for all ages and physical abilities – even if you come in a wheel chair. Please wear comfortable clothing. Instructor Carol Korty began her professional career in theater as a modern dancer and studied dance technique and choreography with some of the greats of the 20th century. Don’t miss out on her workshop! (from maineevents.com)
