What a Good Idea!

from Maine Tourism Association

The Maine Potters Market, showcases the work of Susan Horowitz of Ash Cove Pottery during the month of August. “What a Good Idea!” features her signature designs that are both practical and beautiful. Horowitz established Ash Cove Pottery in Harpswell, Maine in 1985. She says, “the connection I have with my customers is as important to me as the making of the pots themselves. People crave a connection to something real; when you use my pots you meet me in the irregularities and differences between one piece and another.” A long time Maine Potters Market member, Horowitz prides herself in making pots that work well and bring joy to those who use them. Customers frequently comment, “what a good idea,” which inspired this display of functional stoneware kitchen and tableware, and pots that “fight the yuk factor.” DownEast Magazine July 2010 Best of Maine named Horowitz’s mugs “Best Handcrafted Mug”, calling them “humble beauties.” The display will also include a large selection of her award winning mugs.
