The 21st annual Peace & Justice Center’s Harvest Supper benefit potluck will be held on Saturday, October 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Bangor. The benefit vegetarian potluck supper celebrates the fruits of our labors for peace & justice. We will honor Dud Hendrick, President of Maine’s 001 Chapter of Veterans for Peace with a Hands of Peace Award. Will Whitham, who recently graduated from Bangor High School will receive the youth Hands of Peace award. The evening will conclude with a talk on organic gardening in the tradition of Helen and Scott Nearing by Masanobu Ikemya, emeritus director of Arcady Music Festival. He and his wife, Tomoko, maintain an organic garden in Bar Harbor. which enables them to be larglely self-sufficient. (from maineevents.com)
