Panel Discussion
This lecture will inform the audience about ongoing efforts at the state and local levels to preserve the night skies. It presents the case for protecting night skies (i.e., why it is important in places like Mount Desert Island), discusses statewide policy changes that could help in this initiative, and describes at least one town’s efforts to address street lighting as part of the strategy for protecting night skies.
