Celebrate Earth Day and our connections to each other at the l6th annual HOPE Festival on Saturday April 24th from 11-4. Special events include an opening with the Hope Festival Singers, a keynote talk Betty Burkes, educator and former president of the Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom Rob Shetterly and his portraits of “Americans who Tell the Truth, folksingers, Emma’s Revolution and a closing community Dance for HOPE. Children of all ages will enjoy the amazing juggling of Zachary Field, and activities organized by the Maine Discovery Museum, Fields Pond Audubon Society, Windover Arts Center and the Multicultural Office at the University of Maine. Participants will be able to browse among more than 60 organizations working for social change and sustainability, attend workshops and demonstrations reducing your carbon footprint and reducing home energy costs, repairing bicycles and beekeeping.
