Poet Alan Jenkins, one of the best-known British contemporary poets, will be at College of the Atlantic’s Gates Community Center on Friday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. for an evening titled “From the River to the Sea: Poems by Alan Jenkins.” The evening will be in the format of a conversation with Catherine Clinger, the college’s Allan Stone Chair in the Visual Arts. Jenkins, who is known for his courage in writing about the human experience, exposing his personal vulnerability and rawness without losing control of the poetic form, will discuss his work with Clinger, as well as read some of his poems.
