Irish Singer-songwriter Declan O’Rourke is a name not known to many U.S. music fans, but his music is known to millions. The song ‘Galileo” from his debut album Since Kyabram, has been performed by Josh Groban and Paul Weller and Maura O’Connell among others. In fact, during Maura O’Connell’s most recent performance at the Opera House she told us that she felt Declan was one of the best new talents in the world. This spring marks his entry into the U.S. market with televised appearances from New York, sessions in Nashville and appearances at The Birchmere in Virginia and a number of other legendary venues. The Opera House in Boothbay Harbor is thrilled to include this rising Irish talent on our 2012 schedule. You may not have heard of him, but he is worth hearing.
