Join us in promoting physical fitness for you and your dog! Log your minutes anywhere you walk. The goal is 1050 minutes. 30 minutes a day for 35 days is 1050 minutes.
The Walkathon Kick Off will be Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 1:00 pm. at the Canine Carnival at the Woodlawn Museum Ellsworth, Maine. The Canine Carnival will be from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Gift Certificates will be awarded to the participants who walk the most minutes and to a person chosen from a drawing from all the participants who complete 1050 minutes. There is a $10.00 registration fee. All proceeds from the Walkathon will go towards the Downeast Dog Scouts Community Service Projects and Community Education Programs
Everyone can participate in walking with or without a dog. Encourage family, neighbors, children, friends and co-workers to get involved by registering for the Walkathon. The Walkathon will allow the Scouts to expand their projects, so get walking to help out the Scouts!
The Downeast Dog Scouts will sponsor a Clean Up Day as a Finish Celebration on Saturday, November 1, 2008, Take Pride in Acadia Day. Participants will be cleaning up after less responsible dog guardians at Little Long Pond, Seal Harbor, Maine from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon or organize a clean up day
in your neighborhood on November 1, 2008.
